It started with a phone call on a Sunday afternoon . . . “Do you want to drive to the chocolate shop in Calvert?” Those who wanted to make the trip could meet at a restaurant on Highway 6. The Lillekers and their friends, Beth and Wade Bienskie, and the Wentrceks met and had a delightful day on the road. Once they arrived in Calvert, Don and Amber Warner’s T was spotted at a restaurant and everyone stopped for a visit.
CocoaModa, the destination for the day, is a fantastic gourmet chocolate shop where one can select from a variety of wonderful teas, hot chocolate, sundaes and candies. The renovated building was an architectural delight, and, once inside, the display counter was filled with tempting candies. It was hard to decide from which of the delectable looking morsels to choose, but after careful consideration, selections were made.
The drive back home proved to be more challenging than the drive to Calvert. A cool front had arrived in the area and it was quite windy on the way home. Scattered showers came and went, but everyone made it home safely.
